Choose Chalong deliberately
Luna Guesthouse and Travel is listed at 84/6 Viset Road in Phuket’s Chalong Pier and Rawai area. Accommodation listings describe a four-room guesthouse, with double or family accommodation and dormitory beds appearing among the options. Shared bathrooms are mentioned, making the precise room category an important part of the decision.
A separate accommodation inventory lists air conditioning, cable television, a bar and Wi-Fi in public areas. This is a Chalong-area base rather than a west-coast beach resort. Before choosing it, plot the places you expect to visit most often; a small guesthouse can work well when its address supports your daily plans, but less well when every outing starts with an inconvenient journey.
What earlier guests liked and questioned
Micah’s April 2019 Tripadvisor account praised clean rooms, beds, televisions, large refrigerators, the bathroom and staff. The same guest found the commercial setting inconvenient for the sightseeing they wanted and reported road and construction noise at night. That construction report is historical, not evidence of a continuing worksite.
Rrin, who stayed for a month in March 2018 and reviewed in April, described near-daily cleaning and weekly sheet and towel changes, but no kitchen or drinking water. An August 2016 reviewer, writing as the parent of an 18-year-old Muay Thai trainee, praised owner Simon’s care and communication during a three-week visit. These accounts show why some earlier guests valued the personal side of the stay.

Short visit or a longer routine?
For a longer booking, establish whether the selected room has its own refrigerator and bathroom, and how meals will work. A refrigerator does not establish a self-catering kitchen. Confirm housekeeping arrangements for your actual reservation rather than assume the month-long visitor’s schedule still applies.
Luna’s historical appeal is straightforward accommodation with helpful people in a location chosen for Chalong. It is most persuasive when that neighbourhood is already part of the itinerary. The older reports provide useful practical questions, but cannot establish present room condition, noise levels or who will be hosting.
