Following the name change

Tripadvisor explicitly identifies Mythai Guesthouse in Chaloklum, northern Ko Pha Ngan, as formerly Yan Guest House. The two names therefore connect to the same property history.

The older Yan listing describes a guesthouse with a kitchen, terraces and both private and shared bathroom accommodation. Those distinctions matter when choosing a room: a bathroom listed somewhere on the property is not proof that every bedroom has its own. Published room totals differ, so the older inventory should not be treated as the current layout.

Terraces and a garden sitting place

Eddycostello’s October 2017 account describes six nights in a three-bed dorm. The guest praised cleanliness and welcoming owners, and remembered a bamboo garden pagoda, a balcony and a roof terrace. Towels and hot showers were also part of that stay.

Frotrik’s May 2019 review concerns a different arrangement: two upper-floor rooms with a terrace. The guest liked the well-kept rooms, palms and small garden, together with a quiet position off the main road. These reports give the shared outdoor areas a clear role in the stay, beyond simply having a room to sleep in.

What the earlier stays establish

These overnight accounts describe stays in 2017–2019. Current bathroom allocation and room availability need to match the actual offer; historical hospitality, meals and rental arrangements should not be assumed to continue.
