Baan Sijan Villa Resort: a hillside Samui house for shared stays

Older family and friends’ accounts favour its space and communal facilities, with levels, transport and booking scope needing attention.

A house on the western side of Samui

Baan Sijan Villa Resort is described as a five-bedroom villa in the Nathon and Ang Thong area of western Koh Samui. The owner’s Tripadvisor description presents a four-level property with terraces and distant sea and mountain outlooks. That is a hillside-house setting, rather than a promise of direct beach access.

The vertical layout deserves attention when a group includes young children, older relatives or anyone who finds stairs difficult. Ask where the bedrooms and principal shared areas sit in relation to one another. A bedroom count alone tells little about whether everyone can move comfortably through a multilevel house.

Space for a family or friends

Ministry of Villas carries historical Tripadvisor accounts in which visitors describe a large kitchen, sauna, pool and bar area, and barbecue facilities. Anne H, reviewing in January 2018 after an eight-day family visit in December 2017, described a rustic hillside home, comfortable beds and help from Janya and Anny, including assistance with transport and a vehicle.

Mananya’s January 2018 account praised the spacious, clean kitchen, decoration, sauna and pool, bar and barbecue area for a friends’ stay. These are descriptions of earlier visits, rather than a current list of included services. Ministry of Villas now says it no longer rents the property through its agency; that statement alone does not show that Baan Sijan has closed.

Define what the group is booking

Before organising a reunion or family holiday here, clarify whether the reservation covers the whole villa and exclusive use of its shared facilities. Establish which bedrooms are included, what cooking equipment is available, and whether any meals or household help form part of the price. A bar area is not the same thing as staffed bar service.

Transport should also be agreed for the present stay, rather than inferred from a helpful arrangement made for a 2017 guest. The property’s strongest historical appeal is room for people to spend time together in a substantial house. It merits consideration when that shared-house experience is the priority and the current layout, services and access have been confirmed.
